Functional summary

I have been working in the communication field for the past 20 years. Primarily in the Radio Broadcast field installing and maintaining broadcast equipment. Including computer networks, audio streaming and managing engineering projects.


Presently I live on Vashon Island with my two dogs. My hobbies include photography, playing with my dogs, pet sitting, electronic tinkering and playing with computers.


April 1st founded Community Media Project. A 501 3 C  Media Research and Technology corporation operated in the public interest.


 January 2000 I became involved with Bill Morosoff helping found Voice of Vashon. Voice of Vashon is a non-profit group seeking an LPFM license for Vashon Island. For Voice of Vashon I have set up their entire Internet radio station and advise them on all technical issues. I make myself available to any group needing technical advice or help with events or projects.

Summary of qualifications

-Studio building and installation of analog and digital studio equipment. Troubleshooting and maintaining studio equipment. My RF experience includes Installation of transmitter site equipment, including transmitters, antennas, STL, SCA and remote control equipment both digital and analog. Trouble Shooting and maintaining transmitter equipment.


-I have set up audio Internet Streaming technologies such as Real Networks and MP3 streaming using Shoutcast.


-Broadcast remotes with dial up loops, dedicated broadcast loops and ISDN circuits.


-Installing and maintaining satellite equipment.


-Installation and administration of telephone systems such as Northern Telecom and AT&T as well as voice mail systems.


-Working knowledge of computers, Microsoft operating systems and networking computers. I have maintained Digital Audio Workstations such as Pro-Tools, SAW and Cool edit. Automation systems such as Audio Vault. Office software such as MS Word, Excel, Selector and custom software for radio billing and newsrooms.


-Sound reinforcement systems (PA).  I have set up sound systems and run them for special events. I am also have some experienced with theatre projection and sound systems, fixing our small theatre system here on Vashon when no one can make it from the main land. I have experience with home theater systems and automation.


-Trouble shooting skills, being able to track down equipment failures, and getting a working solution to get equipment back up and operational. Solving electrical problems.
